Gemma DePalma

Gemma DePalma

Author of “The Meat Club Cookbook - For Gals Who Love Their Meat” Chronicle Books 2006. She is a personal chef in Manhattan focusing on simple, Italian “peasant” food with local flair, and can bust-out a rib-eye in a moment's notice.

Ms. DePalma's experience with the wonderful world of food began at an early age when she mastered the basics of Italian cooking in her granny's kitchen. Later in life she immersed herself in the consumer side of food managing gourmet retail stores and developing a successful curriculum for a Bay Area cooking school. She considers herself a professional eater and has never met a salumi, bowl of pasta or Italian cheese she hasn't liked.

Fresh From The Field

I want to know where my food is coming from as I'm sure you do too. So, to that end I've been hooking up with farmers all around the New York area to see first hand where my food lives.

Foods I Love

I've been creating food experiences for as long as I can remember. Food connects us whether it's a simple dinner or a big celebration. Family, friends or strangers, food creates community.
